Roden Cutler, V. C.
Arthur Roden Cutler first came to prominence in the Second World War, one of only twenty Australians who received the highest award for bravery, the Victoria Cross, during the conflict. After the war, Sir Roden joined the public service and then pursued a diplomatic career with posts in New Zealand, Ceylon, Egypt, Pakistan and Amsterdam. In 1966 he was appointed Governor of New South Wales, a post he held for 15 years.
