The collision between the aircraft carrier Melbourne and destroyer Voyager is Australia's worst peacetime naval disaster. 82 men perished in the disaster. In this book Vice Admiral Hickling has brought to bear his extensive knowledge on naval matters, particularly when one ship rams another, being on the bridge when 'The Glasgow' rammed 'The Imogen' during World War II. He gives detailed and graphic account of the actual collision and subsequent rescue, the Royal commission into the collision and possible political interference.
