Paris 1962.  Robert Mackay, a youg Australia visitor ot for a good tie, enters a Left Bank café saunters up to the bar, orders a drink, casts a knowing look round the room, spots a pretty girl .........suddenly a shot is fired, then another, ad another,  A man slumps over a table.  Just another victim of the Algerian business - a daily occurrence in the lives of Parisians.  The victim - Sidi Chebourt, the assassin Ben Chakry, the witness Robert Mackay.  So begins a tale of a tense search for a killer with a further tense search by the assassin for witness Mackay.  Its a race around the clock building up the tension to breaking-point.
